Christmas Cookies Part 7 – 2012

Cookie number 7 was a delicious, delicious pain in the butt. I am quite certain I will only pull out for special occasions.

This is the first time I ever made these and I got the recipe here.

A few notes about this. First, browning the butter will make your whole house smell amazing. After you cool it, it will be two separate layers. The top layer will look like lard and the bottom layer will be dark and ominous (ha!). When it “softens”, it won’t be a malleable as butter. At room temperature, it will still be quite stiff.

Using the prescribed tablespoon size, the cookies were a little overdone at 10 minutes of cooking time. Chocolate chip cookies that are browned on top are overcooked.
